Mega Simps

Just in time for Halloween, a couple of costumed cits.

Citizens of Mega City One are incredibly fashion conscience.  Many of them rush to keep up with the latest fads and it's not easy...

While they certainly stand out in a crowd, there's nothing about these guys that would be considered abnormal.  They are just regular people adapting to their irregular environment.

Both of these are from Warlord/Mongoose.  They released two packs of three models each and I wish they had produced more.

Space Age Fashions

Hydra Miniatures came out with Jetsons-inspired civilians last month and I jumped on ordering them right away.

They are perfect for Mega City One!

My photography and lighting are never right.  Below shows her against a different backdrop (jeans) and lighting.

This was the first one that I painted and this color scheme was what I envisioned as soon as I held the miniature in my hand.

Solar eclipse?

Some of the detail is a little shallow in the set as a whole, although not as much on these two.

The face on this one is sculpted a little weird to me, she almost looks alien.

All in all, I'm happy I bought these and will be painting more.
They were fun and easy to do.

Rent-A-Cop

This guy is from Foundry (I think).  He's pretty much a tall guy in a suit, with a gun.

He had a chunk of flash on his forehead that I left and painted metallic.  I figured it makes him look cyberized.

This next one is also from Foundry (I'm sure of that).  Cops don't fit into Judge Dredd's world (there were some early strips that featured police as well as judges, but they quickly disappeared from the scene).

A uniform like that could easily be for a private security guard, though.  This is what I had in mind for this guy.  Just the sort of character that patrols a building and ends up being victim-of-the-week just for trying to put food on his table.

Now I feel bad for him and his soon-to-be orphaned children.
