Earlier this year, I posted about finishing up the Banshee from Warlord/Mongoose. 

Looks familiar... yet shinier.

A friend was looking it over and he suggested that I add gloss varnish to the outside, to make it look more like a car's finish, rather than keeping the matt coat that I already had on it.

I can almost see myself  reflected on the hood.

I also figured it was time to getting around to painting the judge that came with the car.

You, over there!

The model is well cast and sculpted, but there are details on it that aren't right for a MC street judge.
The right shoulder pad is not an eagle and the helmet is wrong.

The model will still make a nice addition to my collection.

Together again.

Feeling Blue

Continuing with painting the cultists from Cthulhu Wars, this time around it is the blue faction, Crawling Chaos.

Crawling Chaos has fast units, which means that the cultists here can travel around quickly.

With these getting done, I now have 18 of the 24 base game cultists finished.  Next up is Yellow Sign...

Big Bad Wolves

This is a unit of Republican Roman skirmishers/velites.

I wanted to give the appearance of an irregular formation, without having to resort to lots of little bases.

Following on from my previous post featuring Hellboy, here we have Baby Boy.

This cute little guy is also a Clix figure that has been rebased and repainted.

Continuing on with painting more cultists, this guy is from North Star.

When I first started painting these guys, I though they would be a breeze to go through.
Then I started painting Cthulhu Wars and... well... robed demon worshipers are only so exciting to paint for a short time.

A post-sacrifice brawl is a great way to wind down.

Now for Something Completely Different...

I've had a long time love of ancient history -- particularly the Roman Republic.

Oh, hello!

I fell in love with Baccus 6mm miniatures as soon as I painted up my first strip.
These guys have plenty of detail and heft.  The models featured here are hastati/princepes from the old line.  Baccus has since revamped their Republican Roman range with newer sculpts that are just as nice (or perhaps even better looking).  

These guys have been sitting on my desk half-finished for a long time.  It was getting to the point where I had to complete them.
They are based on 40mm square bases from Litko.

I think this group/unit really shows off the benefits of 6mm.  This is a unit of 72 models (in three ranks).  The same three bases for 28mm models would hold 12 guys.

How cool are these little guys?

Green Team!

I'm not on a green kick, it is just coincidence I tell you.

I've finished the next batch of cultists for the Cthulhu Wars game.  This time it is for the green faction, Great Cthulhu.

In a previous blog post I  showed pictures of unpainted and painted green cultists. 

Reusing photos makes things so much easier!

Mean Greenies

Welcome to the jungle.

Two no-nonsense guys that are just as comfortable robbing a bank as they are mugging you in a dark alley.

Numero Uno is from Foundry and the sculpt reminds me of the McManus character from The Usual Suspects, for some unknown reason.

This is a generally nice model, well sculpted.

The young punk is from Warlord/Mongoose.

I think the armored codpiece is a nice touch...

It's not a bad miniature, but it's not going to be the centerpiece of any force on the table, either.
